A Self-Balancing Robot made from 3D-Printed parts, 

  • Control is achieved using a MPC  Controller with inputs given via 9-axis IMU sensor (BNO055).

  • Motor control is achieved using  O-Drive motor controller and hall effect encoder.

  • BLDC motors used as drivers allowing for silent operation, and anti-cogging is minimized using in-built O-Drive library.

  • Mass of 850kg allows towing of larger implements while not causing excessive soil compaction.

  • Minimises wheel slip via better weight distribution of tractor and implement.

  • Steel SHS internal structure cast in concrete with steel shell.

  • Linkage point bolted on to allow adjustment or modification for other machine brands.

  • FEA used to verify the structures performance under extreme loads.

BOM BUILDER

Bill of materials builder made using Excel and VBA programming

  • Extracts BOM data from Solidworks Assembly through use of PDM API and Workflow.

  • Applies correct quantities based on Assembly and Machine quantity.

  • Retrieves all relevant STEP, DXF and PDF files from PDM database based on extracted BOM.

  • Checks if file retrieval was successful and notifies of required missing files

  • Updates made to  main code propagate out to all instances/versions of the BOM in the PDM server
